Today, Jesus had his last supper with the disciples, struggled in prayer in Gethsemane and was arrested.
It’s almost unfathomable to realize that Jesus struggled with the will of God. He prayed, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine (Matthew 26:39 – NLT).”
Sometimes we know God’s will, we just don’t like it. We all have our own “cup of suffering.” This is faith: when we believe the cup of suffering will be better for us than what we want. Jesus was our example of complete submission to the will of God. So, if the will of God seems hard for you today, pick up your cross anyway. There is a resurrection coming!
