I was watching a documentary last week about the troubled life of Ty Cobb, arguably the greatest baseball player who ever lived. Cobb died without many, if any, teammates or former colleagues attending his funeral. He reportedly said something near the end of his life like, “If I had to do life over again, I’d do some things differently – I’d make friends.”
At the end of our lives, family and friends are what will be our greatest treasure.
242 Groups is a way we can invest in relationships that we will need on our spiritual journey. It is not the only way, but it is a primary way, the people of our congregation connect for fellowship, encouragement and prayer.
Put the dates listed above on your calendar, and make them a non-negotiable for you. The schedule is reasonable, so let’s make these meetings a priority. Groups start this Sunday (May 4).

John 15:13-15, “13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”
