We want to see fruit right now, but we have to trust God’s timing. “Solomon began to build the temple for the Lord in the 480th year after the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt (1 Kings 6:1).” The fruit we see today is the result of other’s actions in past decades and centuries. God may be using us today, to set up His work hundreds of year from now. Think long.
This is so hard. We live in a here and now society that it is easy to get lost in it. Thank you for the reminder that it is not only what we do now but how we fit into God’s greater plan.
After the event on Sunday morning I’m convinced that God will use Christians to carry the love of Christ into the LGBT world and this time they will listen. The first such act was from a Christian restaurant, Chik Fil A, who opened on Sunday, their normal day to be closed, in order to make food and drink for all the people who stood in line to give blood for the wounded in hospital. No one was paid. Everyone worked for free, so that others were cared for. This kindness from a business that has taken persecution from the LGBT community is Jesus in action.
It’s so beautiful to watch Jesus work…
