CIL Forward this Wednesday

We have a great group of newcomers coming to CIL Forward this Wednesday (July 28), but there is room for you!

CIL Forward exists so that every person in our church has heard our vision, understands the gospel, is in a relationship with Christ, and engages in ministry. This night is for newcomers or people interested in becoming CIL Partners.

We’ll meet at 6:30 pm this Wednesday. If you can come, register at

Kent Henry and Bob Perry Team Up

The two men who have taught me how to combine worship and intercession are Kent Henry and Bob Perry. These veterans of the “Prayer Room” movement will join together Monday at 4 PM to lead us in worship and intercession.

All are welcome to join us in the CIL Sanctuary, as this anointed time of prayer will stream worldwide. Join us at CIL, 4 PM this Monday.

Schedule for Refresh Conference

The Refresh Conference is finally here! I have been thinking about this time for several months, so I am thrilled it is upon us!

You DO NOT need to register or pay to participate. Registration is only for childcare to age 4. Everyone ages 5 and above can just show up and receive!

Everyone is invited to all three events.Sunday night service starts at 7:00 PM.

Join us Monday at 4:00 PM for the Prayer Room intercession and worship set, then break for dinner, and come back at 7:00 PM for the Worship Night. The Sunday night and Monday night service at 7:00 PM will not be online.

Here is the Conference schedule:

Sunday, July 18 (7:00 PM) – Brian Lindsey / Far Flung Tin Can and Mark Rampulla
Monday, July 19 (4:00 PM) – Prayer Room with Kent Henry and Bob Perry
Monday, July 19 (7:00 PM) – Kent Henry and Aubrey McGowan

I believe this will be a defining time for you. This Spirit-filled experience may stretch some of you, but it is transformational to have an experience with God.

Refresh Conference 2021

In ten days, we will have a first-time event at CIL Church – the Refresh Conference. God put this on my heart earlier in the year. I am thrilled how it has come together. We are praying for Spirit-filled worship and impartation during this time.

Several of my friends will be ministering:

Brian Lindsey and the Far-Flung Tin Can worship team will lead us in worship on Sunday night.

Mark Rampulla is preaching Sunday night.

Kent Henry and Bob Perry are leading a Prayer Room intercession on Monday at 4:00 pm.

Kent Henry and Aubrey McGowan will lead us in a night of worship Monday at 7:00 pm.

The Refresh Conference has no charge.

All are welcome! Let’s expect God to do great things!

Maundy Thursday

Today is Maundy Thursday. The term “maundy” comes from the Latin word “command.” On this night, we remember Jesus’ new command:

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” – John 13:34

At a Maundy Thursday service a few years ago, these words hit me with power and conviction. This Scripture has been my life verse since then. I do not always live this Scripture, but it is my standard of spirituality.

On Maundy Thursday, we recognize that Jesus established Holy Communion as our way to remember and connect with Him. We also remember that Jesus washed His disciple’s feet on this day, so we should also serve each other.

The observance of Maundy Thursday is important preparation for Good Friday and the Easter celebration.

Despite sound system troubles, He was there!

Today, CIL Church had a technology meltdown with a major component of our sound system failing. The extraordinary work of Aubrey McGowan, Steve Hertzler, and their team adapted to a portable soundboard, and we were able to have live worship for campus church and digital church.

We’ll be back to normal next week, but for those of us who were part of the early morning surprise, we’ll never forget today. The important part of this story, the presence of God was among us despite these challenges. When we have His presence, we have all we need.

No In-Person Services on February 21

What a week!

It has been a few years since we experienced winter storms like the ones we just endured. Our area just does not have the equipment to clear all the roads and parking lots in a timely manner. I have visited the church property three times in the last 16 hours, and the CIL parking lot is still in terrible shape

After consulting several people who looked at CIL’s parking lot with me, I have decided to have an online service only tomorrow (February 21) at 10:45 AM. We will not offer 242 Childcare and 242 Students on February 21.

Stay safe, and I’ll see you online!

Spanish service started at CIL

This is my partner in ministry, Pastor Jesus Bermudez. Last Sunday he started a Spanish service that is hosted at CIL Church. Each week, the Spanish service will start at 12:30 PM in the sanctuary.

We are so excited about this development! Please spread the word to all your Spanish-speaking friends. Pastor Jesus is an outstanding worship leader and preacher!

USA needs CIL Church

This article was sent as an email to the CIL Church family, but I think the content will benefit many who read it.

___________________________________

You have no idea how important you are!   You are building the Kingdom of God through your participation at CIL.  The United States of America is under a shaking right now.  Most people see this in politics and social issues.  I think that focus is a distraction from a more dangerous shaking in the spiritual realm.

The American church is in accelerated decline right now, and that dip includes the digital church. While the digital church is necessary and part of how we worship moving forward, fewer people are watching services than Spring 2020. The novelty of watching church online is out; sleeping late on Sundays is in. This reality is occurring all across the country. Children are not learning Scripture. Teenagers are not in a Christian community.  On a national level, how will this impact a generation if this continues?

While this is occurring, are we replacing spiritual fervor with political and social passion?   Where is our true passion?  Has affection for Jesus drifted to another source?

I do not mean to discourage you, but rather honor you.  Your church participation at any level is a tremendous help right now in preserving the Kingdom of God in America.  All activities – prayer, in-person attendance, online worship, financial contributions, teaching children, leading a teenage small group, taking a meal to someone, posting Scripture – keeps the flame of the gospel burning, even when people are looking away.

When the next national revival occurs, CIL Church will be ready to be part of history.  Until then, we do not back down from the challenge.  With God’s help, we will continue to thrive.  Don’t fall away from the church, now!

call God’s people to build His Kingdom through the local church.  Whatever you can contribute makes a difference.   Believe in the local church because Jesus chose the local church to represent Himself to the world.

What a privilege it is to live in these days!
