Catching Up

KingdomRock_Logo_LR_Color copy– I’m amazed and grateful for all the leaders who have contributed to the preparation of VBS. There are several volunteers who have been VBS directors at other churches!  We are blessed by the leadership of Pastor Chip Johnson and his team.
One more plug:  Our VBS is Monday-Thursday, June 24-27, 5:45 – 8:45.  Last minute registration at http://indianlakevbs.org/

Union University - Jackson

– In early June I started my doctorate at Union University.   I’m working towards an Ed.d in Higher Education.   I spent two weeks in Jackson, TN, and will do so again next year.   There will be a few short trips, but most of my studies will be self-directed.  If all unfolds as scheduled, I’ll graduate in December 2016.   I have loved the experience so far, and I look forward to the rest of the program.  I was also blessed by the hospitality of Pastor Randy Carter and his wife Nancy, of Northside Assembly of God.   Randy and Nancy hosted me during much of my stay in Jackson, and I had the privilege of preaching one of the mid-week services at Northside.  Great people!

Allison Family - 2013 - June Dance Recital– A big focus of our family’s June is the Smartt Steps Dance recital, which is held at the Tennessee Peforming Arts Center in Nashville.  Beth teaches a vocal performance class, which in my unbiased opinion, is the class act of the show.  Abbey performs in that group, while Lincoln performs in the hip-hop routine.   The performances were June 18 and 19, and life will feel a little more normal now they are over.

Junior Mustangs Logo– I am a position coach for Hendersonville’s Junior Mustangs 5th and 6th grade football team this year.  Luke will be participating as a 6th grader.  It’s hard to believe that we will be starting in pads THIS WEEK!  The football season keeps starting earlier and earlier, which is unfortunate with the heat of summer.  However, I’m really happy to be coaching, and I look forward to working with the boys this season.
