A Christ-like Attitude is Possible through Transformation

Sunday was full of life, with visitors and long-time CIL Partners all drinking from the cup of the Lord. I taught on one of the most aspirational passages in Scripture – Philippians 2:5-14. This hymn of the first church calls us to a Christ-like attitude, which is only possible through transformation. I pray Jesus keeps working on me and all of us!

Church is Distinctive

When I think of the impactful small groups about to begin at our church the next few days, these words written earlier in the week by Russell Moore reinforce purpose:

“Against the backdrop of all of the cultural wreckage around us, how distinctive it is for those hungering and thirsting for something more to find a church of people—however small, however unnoticed—who know how to pray, gather around a table, and say ‘Amen’ to the Bible together.”

Jesus Transforms

Believing in Jesus is not a cultural category but a path of transformation. When we study and follow His way in Christian community, our change will be evident. This path is for you!

“When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus.” – Acts 4:13 (CSB)

Philippians reminds that unity matters!

CIL has been in the book of Philippians, and it is incredible how truths from Scripture shape us! I taught Sunday from Philippians 2:1-5 a message titled “If Anything Has Happened.”

Sunday, 242 Connect allowed people to discover our small groups at CIL. We start these groups on Sunday, August 14. Here is a list of our small groups:

There are so many great things happening in our church family. Today’s message called us to respond to God’s goodness by preserving unity. I am so glad to be part of a church that does this!

Watch Sunday’s service and be blessed!
