Hanukkah reminds us to protect the Jews

As Hanukkah nears its end, I want to declare my love and support for the Jews publicly. Hanukkah is also known as the “Feast of Dedication,” commemorating God’s miracle in preserving the Jews under attack from the Greeks.

Jesus celebrated Hanukkah (John 10:22-23). This long-established practice is a significant reminder that anti-semitic attitudes and actions perpetuate in every generation. While I firmly and clearly support the Jews, I care for the innocent lives lost in Gaza and look forward to a day when “never again will they learn war (Isaiah 6:2).”

Hendersonville and Gallatin Tornado

I am amazed (but not surprised) by the cooperation, hard work, generosity, and love from people in Hendersonville and Gallatin towards neighbors and friends in the aftermath of Saturday’s tornado. In several crises we’ve experienced in the community over 20 years, I’ve witnessed humanity at its best. Thanks be to God for His people!

The tornado occurred on Saturday, December 9, 2023. This picture was taken from http://www.fox17.com
