We love Jesus so much because …

We love Jesus greatly because we have sinned greatly.

King David’s abuse of power was selfish, destructive, and unjust. He seduced the wife of an honorable subordinate and orchestrated the cover-up until Uriah was dead. David paid a high price for the consequence of his sin; but, it was not a forever punishment.

God restored David, and he will restore you and me.

“Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.” – Isaiah 51:1 (ESV)

A timely word for confusing times

During our worship services, I believe the Lord spoke these words to the church:

This is a time of confusion, and God is not the author of confusion
This is a time of confusion, but not for the remnant of God.
Expect more clarity in the will and purpose of God
Look for new and renewed alliances.

For God is not the author of confusion but of peace – 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV)

So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace – Romans 11:5 (NRSV)

I pray this message and Scriptures strengthen your faith in Jesus today!

Thankful for America

In my lifetime, there have been different waves of patriotism and waves of de-emphasizing nationalism. Our nation’s foundation of individual freedom allows for both perspectives.

Those who deconstruct America speak with no fear, for their criticism is protected by the Constitution and the sacrifice of multitudes.

I love the United States of America, and I appreciate what a gift it is to me, my family, and my faith. It is a good thing to love our country.

Put your hope in God

There is a lot of opportunity to panic and despair with the renewed public awareness of COVID-19, but I encourage us all to put our hope in God.

Choose to hope in Him.
He will not abandon those who trust in Him.

We put our hope in the Lord.
He is our help and our shield.
In Him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone. – Psalm 33:20-22 (NLT)
