Last service of the decade!

Last worship service of the decade!

Join me at CIL on December 29 at either 9 am or 10:45 am.

We will be ministered to by some of the fantastic talents among us. Abbey Allison, Josh Johnson, and Paul Lawson will lead us in worship music. Chris Muti, our Young Adult Pastor, who is passionate and funny, will preach. It’s Family Sunday, so plan to worship with your elementary children in the sanctuary.

It is going to be an enjoyable service, and I want you to join me!

Thoughts on Christmas Week

As we enter into sacred holiday time, I am for less stress, strife, and pressure. With God’s help, I plan to love deeply, laugh heartily, and enjoy God immensely. We are gifted a limited number of seasons, so let’s embrace this one and not be jerks.

About CIL People:
There are many reasons I’m thankful to be a pastor at CIL. I’m especially appreciative for people who care about the welfare of our church, and work towards its health and vitality. Thank you Lord for your people!

Christmas Eve Schedule:

There are three Christmas Eve options to choose from at CIL:

  • Monday, December 23, at 6:30 pm.
  • Tuesday, December 24, at 2 pm or 3:30 pm.

Aubrey and the worship team are working hard on the music to connect your heart to Jesus. Spread the word to friends who may not usually attend church. Christmas Eve is a great time to invite people!

Advent: An invitation to connect with Jesus

You may have been like me, not growing up around the concept of Advent.  Advent designates a period before Christmas when Christians prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth. If you choose to follow the traditional church calendar like we often do at CIL, Advent started on December 1 and culminates on Christmas Eve.

This organization of times extends our holiday. Advent prepares us for Christmas, which is celebrated for 12 days by the church, beginning on December 25. Christmas is a time of joy, wonder, awe, and feasting!

So, lean in with the rest of the world-wide church into this heavenly focus. This time is an invitation to connect with Jesus.  At whatever point you want to acknowledge Advent, I think it will be good for your soul.

One way you may benefit from Advent is some additional Bible reading that revolves around Advent themes. Attached is a plan provided by CIL that you may find helpful.
